Hello! My name is Kalista Arendt. I am a junior at St. Norbert College. I am currently studying psychology. I hope to earn a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I see myself working at a college helping students with various mental illnesses and stressors that arise throughout their college years. College is a weird time where everything is changing and you are gaining independence. I want to help people make the most out of these years to have the best adult life possible.
I also have a really big interest in animals. I grew up on a family dairy farm in Wisconsin. Growing up with so many animals, I learned to appreciate them and their healing powers. I am working on trying to volunteer at a local humane society, but given the Coronavirus pandemic, they are not accepting volunteers at this time. Once this opportunity becomes available, I plan to volunteer weekly. After graduation, I hope to get a dog that I can train to become a therapy dog. I hope to bring this dog to local children’s hospitals to bring joy to children battling illnesses like cancer.
