Brittny Pedroni, PA-S

“I am currently almost done with the first semester of my second year of PA school at Union College in Lincoln, NE! After one more didactic semester this coming spring, I will have a full year of clinical rotations and will graduate in May 2025!”

“Since graduation, I worked as a CNA at a local hospital in Sheboygan for about 2 years. While I was there, I was asked to become a preceptor for new CNAs and was awarded “unit MVP” in 2021 for being the most positively mentioned team member on patient satisfaction surveys. My then fiancé (now husband!) and I adopted a dog, Maya, in October of 2021, we got married in June of 2022, and I moved 600 miles away from home to Lincoln, NE to start PA school in August 2022. Since then I have been grinding away at grad school. I just recently finished my capstone research paper and presentation and I am looking forward to wrapping up my didactic years and starting clinicals in May!”

“The DDM Lab gave me an inside look to the process of formal research. I really believe my experience being a part of the DDM Lab set me apart from my peers, especially on PA school applications and interviews. I also learned a ton about EEG’s, how to use them, and why we use them while I was a part of the DDM Lab, in addition to all the other research skills I learned. Most importantly, the DDM Lab helped me build collaboration skills. Working with my peers and Dr. Lopez week after week really set me up for the high level of collaboration required of me in the field of medicine. I have also always been very interested in the field of psychology and I am incredibly thankful I had the opportunity to explore that further through the DDM Lab. I am still highly considering psychiatry as my future specialty, partially thanks to my time with the DDM Lab!”
